However, Prasad will not be able to come out of jail today as another case is being heard against him. The bail petition filed in that case is scheduled to be heard on December 3. Prasad’s lawyer gave this information.
Prasad was arrested on 26 September under the provisions of the National Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after he was questioned in a narcotics case related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Special NDPS court Judge GB Gurao granted him bail on Thursday. The court while granting bail on a surety of Rs 50,000, directed the accused not to go out of the country without permission, tamper with the evidence and not influence the investigation. Prasad had earlier alleged that the NCB had framed him as he refused to make false statements against director Karan Johar and other Bollywood celebrities. However, his allegations were rejected by the investigating agency.
Meanwhile, the special court also granted bail to suspected drugs dealer Dwayne Fernandes. He is also an accused in the drugs case. According to the investigating agency, Fernandes traded marijuana and hashish and is an assistant to Shouvik Chakraborty, the brother of actress Riya Chakraborty.
