The Mahaparava of Surya worship will begin on Chhath Wednesday. According to the Panchang, this 36-hour mahaparva will begin on Kartik Shukla Chaturthi (Wednesday) and will end with offering Arghya to the rising sun on Kartik Shukla Saptami. It is the festival of worship of Suryadev, the first ray of the sun in the morning and the last ray of the sun in the evening is offered to pay obeisance. It is called Chhath because of the fast of Surya Shashthi.
Purvanchali will start the fast from Nahai Khay on Chhath Puja Chaturthi date. Will do kharna on the second day of Chhath Puja. After taking the prasad at night, the fast will remain on the fast. On the third day, fasting Asthanchal will offer Arghya to the Sun. On Saturday, the fast will end the fast after offering Arghya to the rising sun. The fast is then completed by Parana.
Pandit Kaushal Kishore said that everyone celebrates this festival of happiness, prosperity and fulfillment of desires. Purvanchal residents especially observe this fast. Chhath Puja has been going on since the time of Mahabharata. Sun son Karna also observed this fast. Chhath Maiya is the sister of Surya Dev and Lord Surya is worshiped to please him. This puja is performed by standing in water on the banks of Ganga-Yamuna or any holy river or pokhar.

This is how to worship Nahay Khay
The first day of Chhath Puja is celebrated as Kartik Shukla Chaturthi ‘Nahay-Khay’. The house is cleaned and made sacred. After this, Chhath Vrati takes a bath and starts a fast by consuming pure vegetarian food prepared in a holy way. All the members of the household take food only after the fast. Pumpkin-gram lentils and cooked rice are taken as food.
On Tuesday, activists of Delhi BJP Purvanchal Morcha demonstrated at the Chief Minister’s residence against the ban on public Chhath Puja program in Delhi. Demanded permission from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for organizing Chhath Mahaparva.
Chhath’s proposal got approval in the meeting of Southern Corporation House
The proposal for organizing Chhath Puja was passed in the meeting of South Delhi Municipal Corporation House held on Tuesday. At the same time, Leader of the House Narendra Chawla has requested the corporator to issue guidelines for celebrating Chhath festival.
Narendra Chawla said that most of the people in the capital live in small houses, where people are unable to perform Chhath Puja due to lack of space. This is the reason why the people of Purvanchal approach the Chhat Ghats. In such a situation, the Government of Delhi is requested to consider this proposal as soon as possible and allow it to celebrate Chhath festival.
