- Delhi High Court upholds ban on Chhath Puja by state government
- The court said that the Kovid-19 epidemic will pick up speed due to the mass organization of Chhath Puja
- The decision of the Delhi government has created political turmoil, especially the BJP is very vocal.
- There are a large number of Purvanchalis in Delhi who are competing in the parties to do their favor.
The Delhi High Court has given a big relief to the Arvind Kejriwal government, which is facing the opposition’s grudge over the ban on the mass organizing of Chhath Puja. The High Court has also cleared the government’s decision to ban Chhath. The court said that if the collective event of Chhath Puja is allowed, there will be a possibility of a sharp rise in the Kovid-19 epidemic. At the same time, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has also allowed the Delhi government to impose lockdown locally in some areas. The Chief Minister on Tuesday sought permission from the Central Government to ban certain activities in the Corona hotspot areas through LG.
If you will be alive, then you will be able to celebrate any festival: High Court
A petition was moved in the Delhi High Court against the Delhi government’s decision to seek permission to conduct Chhath Puja. Commenting hard on this, the High Court said that ‘you will be alive, only then you will be able to celebrate any festival’. The High Court turned down the petition saying that it seems the petitioner is not aware of the situation in Delhi. In such circumstances mobilization cannot be allowed.
BJP targeted the Kejriwal government
In fact, in the festive season, people were very careless and openly flouted the rules to protect the Kovid-19 epidemic. The rising level of pollution from above added fuel to the fire and the corona exploded in the national capital. The Delhi government decided to put a stop to the mass holding of Chhath Puja in anticipation of crowd gathering. Both the BJP and Congress opposition parties took the issue to the Kejriwal government. In this episode, former Delhi BJP president and MP Manoj Tiwari has even spoken abuses to CM Arvind Kejriwal. Tiwari said that a false drama is being done in the name of guidelines.
Politics of prey
Actually, the number of Purvanchalis in Delhi is considerable. For this reason, they play an effective role in elections. In such a situation, where the Delhi government is making a ruckus on the ban on Chhath Puja, BJP is trying to declare this decision against the Purvanchalis. Meanwhile, the High Court verdict is nothing short of a relief for the Kejriwal government.
